Restoring the Two Rivers Mansion

An initial investment just short of two million dollars resulted in a complete restoration of the exterior of the Mansion in 2012.  Significant improvements were also made to the interior, as well as farm fencing across the front of the property and new signage along McGavock Pike.  Restoration work of the 1802 House was performed, resulting in being able to include it as part of tours. A 20-year Master Plan for the property was finalized in 2016, which envisioned a new event center that will enable the Friends group to expand rental capabilities so the Mansion can be further preserved and converted into a house museum.

In February 2024, a second exterior restoration project was begun by the Parks Department. This project completed in August 2025 and resulted in a structure as close to newly constructed as possible. The Tradesman Group led the restoration project and provided the slideshow to the left detailing the extraordinary work and process they went through.

During the exterior work, a fifth bedroom was reclaimed from an unused portion of the second floor, and wallpaper and plaster replacement and repair were completed in other second-floor rooms.

The Tradesman Group led the full exterior restoration of Two Rivers Mansion and captured the process in this footage.
