Mickey Sullivan

Mickey (J. Michael) Sullivan is a civil engineer who has split his career between government and private consulting. He started with the US Amy Corps of Engineers and later was the Director of Engineering for Metro Public Works. For over 30 years since then, he has been with Gresham Smith in a variety of management and consulting engineering roles.

He has been active in the community serving on boards of United Way of Middle Tennessee, Donelson Hermitage Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Two Rivers, Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers, and American Public Works Association among others. He is on advisory boards at the engineering school of both Vanderbilt University and Tennessee State University. He is in the L’Evate class of 2026. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University.

He is married to Nancy Sullivan. They live in Donelson.
