Friends of Two Rivers invites the community to experience live music at Two Rivers Mansion. Our music events bring together talented performers, beautiful surroundings, and welcoming audiences for afternoons and evenings filled with connection, culture, and a celebration of being Music City.

The Nashville Opera is excited to collaborate with Two Rivers for this special celebration of Marian Anderson’s life. On April 9, 1939, Marian Anderson sang on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to a crowd of thousands. It was the only venue where she was allowed to sing.
Fifteen years later, Marian shared her beautiful contralto voice on the stage of the Met. Her music broke down barriers and was a courageous act of resistance in the face of prejudice and segregation.
The Nashville Opera is excited to celebrate Anderson’s voice with a narrated concert of a book based on her life, titled When Marian Sang, by Pam Muñoz Ryan.
The concert is young adult-friendly and truly brings to life moments of Anderson’s story in a unique and compelling way.

Born & raised in Music City, Timbo is a 3rd generation musician with strong roots in traditional Country & Bluegrass music. Influenced by his parents, their musician peers, aunts, uncles and grandparents, as he spent his early childhood traveling from gig to gig. He grew up at festivals, broadway bars, his father’s instrument repair shop, backstage at the Opry, & sleeping in the old green rooms while his parents played the late night shows. Timbo’s brand of music has quickly climbed the ranks as one of the finest musicians currently the Country music scene.
