The Friends of Two Rivers collaborated with Metro Parks and Metro Historic with support from the Tennessee Historic Commission to create a Master Plan for the 14-acre site in 2016. One of the top priorities identified was a larger facility to expand access to education, host events, strengthen community connections, and deliver inclusive programming to residents across the Metropolitan Nashville area, which is needed as the popularity of Two Rivers has grown. This will allow us to continue expanding our educational and community programming and host larger events in this new facility to redirect those revenues back into the preservation of the Two Rivers Mansion and the 1802 House as historic interpretive museums. This beautifully designed facility was envisioned and designed by Melvin Gill & Associates and EOA Architects to look like a carriage house and its architecture reflects those beautiful characteristics.
